Hello Friends, We wanted to wish everybody a Happy Holiday Season. Please check out our special video at where the whole staff sends you a warm Holiday greeting. We wanted to thank all of you for making it a special year at Sierra Brava. There were so many funny stories with clients and we formed a great team at Sierra Brava. For the clients, we were able to provide the best value in Cordoba, which was important during these tougher economic times. The prospects for next year are wonderful as things turn around in the US and the word of mouth keeps getting louder. We are looking forward to an amazing 2010 season with lots of great memories!

On the shooting front, spring is here and it has finally rained in Cordoba. After enduring a nine month drought, the rains came down in November. Everything has turned green and thankfully the shooting is top-notch. Birds are travelling frequently to and from the roosting area to get food. This makes for long and very high volume shooting days like in summer. In addition, there is less shooting pressure this year so we have more birds in some fields than years before. Many groups are breaking records that are usually done in December and January. The best example is renowned PH Wamback from Namibia who killed 5,000 birds in one day in October.

Finally, the news story of the decade is Topo’s Argentine Cooking Book is going to be a reality. Yes, after five years of “hard work” he has it almost finished. 2010 will hopefully be the launch of Topo’s “masterpiece”!

Eduardo Sartorelli studied Tourism in Cordoba and worked for 2 years in a 5 star hotel in Cordoba. Eduardo is in charge of everything around the lodge. Eduardo’s attention to detail and hospitality really make the difference around the lodge. Eduardo enjoys his life at Sierra Brava because of his co-workers and the interesting clients he meets every day at the lodge.

He is currently married and lives with his wife and beautiful baby in Dean Funnes about 25 minutes from the lodge.

Latest and Greatest Improvement

The latest and greatest improvement requires a special “Topo-style” drum roll. We are now accepting credit cards! After many years of living in the 50s, Sierra Brava has taken the plunge and will now take credit cards. We will accept Visa or MasterCard.

Concerning the plastic, we will be slightly raising certain prices after June 1 to incorporate the credit card fee expense. For example, shells will go up to $11.75. Before June 1, there will be a 5% surcharge for paying your shell bill with a credit card. After June 1 when the credit card charge is incorporated into the prices, we will offer a 5% discount for paying with cash or check. With these increases, we will also be eliminating the check fee in case you want to pay by personal check.
